I oversee and review project’s performance against pre-set objectives and milestones to ensure quality control throughout its life cycle while identifying and addressing key challenges/lessons learnt.
- Provided quality surveys, data collection and analysis, lessons learned and best practices of practices under investigation.
- Provided technical support to The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) by conducting research to inform policy review exercise through agriculture policy mapping of existing set of policy and legal frameworks targeted towards/related to family farming to Sub Saharan Africa context, assessment of policy, legal and institutional frameworks for the Regional Technical Platform on Family Farming launched by FAO to promote exchange on innovative experiences and feed into the development of practical tools and instruments for the use of governments and countries.
- Spearheaded the developing and sustaining of an Integrated Livestock Early Warning Systems (ILEW) and Enhanced Early Action Systems for disaster risk reduction in the IGAD region for African Union- IBAR, working with consultants from the IGAD member states), and,
- Supported the mapping of existing early warning actors within respective IGAD countries, data collected on operational elements of existing early warning systems, integrated systems and enhanced early action.
- Conducted baseline surveys for disaster risk reduction (in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction) and emergency response as an empowerment tool for Women and youth, for UNW.
- Partnered with Africa Nature Organization (ANO), to support WWF Screening, for and identifying opportunities and recommendations to develop/scale up Nature Based Solutions (NbS) interventions including natural climate solutions (NCS) in the Kenya Coastal sea/landscape (forest and rangelands) for sustainable natural resource management and biodiversity conservation including ocean-based sustainable development, safeguarding the ocean environment that propel blue economy, and,
- Performed capacity building of conservation groups/projects for greater understanding of NbS concept by WWF KE and her local partners whilst scaling and sustaining these projects over time, as well as,
- Provided due diligence support to coastal marine (mangrove) and terrestrial forest conservation groups in Kenya.
- Achievements
- Developed an analysis of policies, strategies, frameworks relevant to and applicable to Family Farming in the Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Led a team of IGAD national consultants culminating in a regional report and recommendations for successful development of an Integrated Livestock Early Warning Systems (ILEW) and enhanced Early Action Systems as a tool to reduce vulnerabilities and improve preparedness and response to natural hazards/disasters for the IGAD region.
- Successfully screened for and identified opportunities and recommendations for development/scaling up of Nature Based Solutions (NbS) interventions for sustainable development of both marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
