Moses Obala is a trainer registered with the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK) and had worked in a training institution for 5 years. He is proficient in Microsoft Office as well as data analysis software of SPPS, STATA, and Epi Data among others. He has participated in several activities with many organizations including Mid Term Review on East Africa maternal newborn and child health (World Vision); Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for Kenya Electricity transmission company (KETRACO); strategic plan development, WEMA Centre Mombasa; End Term Evaluation of child rights governance for saving the children and Kenya alliance for the advancement of Rights of Children (KAARC); Baseline Survey-HIV/AIDS Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of Students in Selected High Schools In Rift Valley Province, Kenya, 2011-Consultancy report submitted to I choose Life Africa-ICL; Baseline Survey on Sexual gender-based violence in Nairobi slums: Amnesty International; Training of local leaders on improved knowledge and attitude towards HIV/AIDS.
Other than that, Moses is well acquainted with research (both qualitative and quantitative) methodologies in several fields including health, education, food security, and governance. He has skills in Strategic Plan development, development of data collection tools, conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key informant interviews (KII, data processing, analysis, reporting, proofreading, and transcription.
As a program coordinator, Moses leads the team in the preparation of data collection tools, data collection as well as data analysis. Besides that, he also coordinates designing training programs, Facilitation of workshops/training for enumerators, Development of evaluation tools and evaluation of training, Sourcing for facilitators, and writing of reports.
More so, Moses is in charge of the coordination of transport of both the staff and enumerators to the field where he organizes and books for vehicles, purchases office equipment, and coordination of repair and maintenance among other activities which ensures smooth operations in the office.
