I am a passionate medical laboratory scientist and aspiring researcher . I hold a bachelor of science in Medical laboratory Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi. I have continuous two years work experience in medical microbiology, molecular diagnostics , clinical chemistry, clinical immunology, blood transfusion science, haematogy , cytopathology, histology, laboratory management and clinical toxicology . I am eager to be part of the team to advance laboratory medicine in Kenya, Africa and the World. This is key in preparedness strategies to tackle existing healthcare challenges and unprecedented new challenges such as pandemics and epidemics.
If given a chance, I will work passionately to ensure team goals and ideas is achieved.
Sept. 2022 to Date; Volunteer at AMURT healthcare . I assist in analyzing patients' samples using the SOP , and generate timely reports for appropriate patients management.
July 2022 – Sept. 2022: Medical Laboratory in-charge at Dawahub Hospital, Nairobi. I was tasked with managing Dawahub Hospital Laboratory, Procurement and monitoring of laboratory supplies, assist in drawing patients samples, archiving histology samples and reports; and analyzing patients samples and resulting.
Sept. 2021- to June 2022 : Laboratory Technologist at Savannah Healthcare services. I boosted my competence in;
Phlebotomy
Software and laboratory equipment operation
Some of roles I performed are:
Running daily IQC prior to analyzing patients sample.
July 2021-Sept. 2021: Medical Laboratory Scientist intern at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
I worked in various laboratory medicine and allied clinical departments which include: Haemotology, blood transfusion, medical microbiology, clinical endocrinology laboratory, histocytology, clinical chemistry, Comprehensive Care Centre( CCC), Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative - Institute of Clinical Research (KAVI -ICR) laboratories, University of Nairobi Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (UNITID) laboratories, KNH mortuary where I learned mortuary science, Phlebotomy and Antenatal clinic. I acquired relevant knowledge and skills necessary to execute a role that entails job description of a medical Laboratory scientist.
