- Project cost recording: Recorded actual project costs and income accurately for many concurrent engineering projects across Kenya and other countries, each held as its own account, including third-party United Nations engagements (UNSOS and UN OCHA).
- Budget monitoring: Monitored project budgets and tracked actuals against them, and flagged budget risks and variances to management early rather than after the fact.

- WIP and NTE tracking: Prepared work-in-progress schedules per project, tracking costs against budget and billings, reconciled WIP balances to the general ledger, and monitored Not-to-Exceed (NTE) balances on United Nations engagements.
- Reconciliation: Reconciled project cost data to the general ledger and sub-ledgers, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Committed costs and vendors: Reviewed vendor bills, contracts and committed costs before payment, set up vendor and contractor records, and checked vendor bank details.
- Internal controls: Followed internal controls and financial policies and kept organised documentation for all project financial transactions.
- Audit support: Led internal and external audits, preparing audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for project audits.
- Project teams: Worked with operations, procurement and project teams, explained financial information clearly to non-accountants, and supported them with budget tracking.
- Process improvement: Introduced improvements to cost tracking and reporting that reduced manual effort and improved accuracy.
- Wider accounting: Also handled accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payroll, tax filings, fixed assets and month-end close, and trained interns.
