Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi – May to August 2024
During my academic attachment at Milimani Law Courts, I worked closely with magistrates, legal officers, and administrative staff, gaining hands-on experience in courtroom procedures and the Kenyan judicial system. My role involved:
Assisting in the preparation and filing of court documents, including charge sheets, affidavits, and case files.
Managing court diaries, recording proceedings, and organizing case files to ensure efficient case flow.
Supporting the courtroom during hearings by handling exhibits, swearing in witnesses, and updating case statuses.
Observing real-time court sessions, which deepened my understanding of legal ethics, criminal procedures, and courtroom decorum.
