Robin Lyambila

I am an accomplished Social Science graduate with 10 years of experience in SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence) and Child Protection, working across inter-agency coordination, capacity development, data and case management, and advocacy in emergency response settings, particularly in refugee protection. My expertise includes policy development, staff mentorship, and training facilitation. I have made significant contributions to global and regional SGBV policies and protection frameworks.

Key Roles and Achievements: Humanitarian Work & Advocacy: Led the SGBV strategy development and coordinated 25 partner organizations working on SGBV prevention. Spearheaded the operationalization of the UNHCR High Commissioner's FGM special project which was recognized by the Kenyan government as a best practice at the 2013 Commission on Status of Women.

Represented

Kenya as an Adviser at the 2013 Commission on Status of Women in New York, presenting on Kenya's efforts to end FGM.

Training and Capacity Building: Facilitated numerous webinars and workshops on Code of Conduct, PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), Gender Equality, GBVIMS (Gender-Based Violence Information Management System), and other topics relevant to protection and inclusion. Developed and facilitated training programs for UNHCR and partners on SGBV prevention, data collection, case management, and legal protection instruments.
