Sammy Gitonga

I am an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering student who also double as a Jack of many trades. I am an expert transcriptionist and captioner, freelance writer. I also web developer with skills in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, PHP, Wordpress and Python. I have worked with a computer for very long allowing me to gain skills in Excel, graphic design with Canva and Photoshop. Finally, I do digital marketing and SEO writing mostly through Wordpress and Google Business Sites.

I am a highly motivated and outgoing professional with a liking for connecting with people and forming positive relationships. I do well in social settings and excel in roles that require teamwork and good communication. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I've also been told that I learn fast and I have a tendency to obsess over difficult problems until they have been solved.

My social life revolves around spending time with family and going to Church. I love spending time outdoors, mainly hiking and jogging, but also visiting new sites and enjoying the beauty of our country. I also love teaching things I know to people, which I have done as a job in the past but now I just do it for my amusement and to help out.

I started out as a primary school teacher then a secondary school tutor. I got into writing, then to transcription and captioning. I have done enumeration jobs with the IEBC, Kenya Climate Smart Agricultural Project and KARLO. I then developed a liking for programming from school and taught myself that. I have recently hosted my first major website and I have made two others yet to be hosted.

Most things I know I have taught myself via the internet. However, I have good high school education, having graduated with an A. I am also currently a deferred student (for a year) at the Technical University of Kenya where I am fourth year student.
