• Taking detailed medical histories and conducting thorough physical examinations of new and existing patients
• Performing and recording vital signs and other necessary observations
• Formulating an initial provisional diagnosis and proposing a primary treatment plan, to be discussed and approved by a senior team member
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (laboratory and radiological investigations) under supervision
• Initiating and monitoring the prescribed treatment plan and making modifications as necessary with senior approval
• Performing basic bedside procedures such as intravenous cannulation, drawing blood, and sample collection (e.g., lumbar puncture) as required

• Following up on the implementation of the prescribed course of treatment and documenting any developments or complications

• Communicating effectively and collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and specialists, to ensure continuity of care
• Guiding and communicating with patients and their relatives regarding their diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and follow-up plan in a compassionate and ethical manner
• Appropriately and clearly handing over patients to the next team or colleague during shift changes
• Regularly reporting to and consulting with the Internship Supervisor, Medical Officer, or Consultant on patient status, complex cases, and any critical changes
• Actively participating in mandatory and recommended training programmes, Continuous Medical Education (CME) activities, and journal clubs
• Taking part in clinical research projects, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives under the guidance of mentors
