PROJECT: THIKA GREENS GOLF CITY PROJECT. 

(Construction of gated community along thika- muranga highway on 1200 acres. Project consisted of residential homes, hotels, golf fields, access roads, schools and social places.)

DURATION: JUNE 2010 TO DECEMBER 2011

POSITION: FIELD ENGINEER.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building Construction supervision.
• He inspected road construction in the estate project.
• Recommendation for material testing.
• Bar schedules computation for concrete works.
• Inspection of construction of under passes.
• Inspection of construction of perimeter wall.
• Inspected hard packing, installation of culverts, gabions to specification.

POSITION: TRAINEE ENGINEER. 

(Various projects within Nairobi involving both building and civil works. proposed improvement and expansion of Waiyaki way from James Gichuru junction to Rironi (A104/B3) junction. KCAA office block. Consultancy services for feasibility study, preliminary engineering design. preliminary and detailed design of Garissa-Dadaad-Liboi road and Bill of Quantities)

DURATION: JANUARY 2012 TO DECEMBER 2012

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Data input and collation of manual classified vehicle count to excel
• Assessment of Kangemi fly over foundation in relation to expansion proposal
• Conducting traffic surveys for volumetric vehicle count
• Design of civil and structural works
• Drawing using AutoCAD the structural elements
• Conducting interview for environmental and social assessment study
• Drawing the topography of a proposed site
• Designing road sections using AutoCAD

1. TOYO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.

PROJECT: MOMBASA PORT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.

(package 1- building and civil works- berth 20 & 21. building works consisted of construction of office blocks. civil works included reclamation of port site, construction 2 berths , port access road and the container yards)

POSITION: SITE ENGINEER

DURATION: JANUARY 2013-JUNE 2015

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision of utilization, delivery and quality control of materials. Overseeing the stockpiling, loading and offloading of materials e.g.; stones, aggregates and cement once on site.
•  Preparation of payment records for materials delivered. 
• Supervision of topographical, hydrographic and geotechnical survey for various construction activities including: stone slope embankment protection, drainage facilities, installation of the geo-textiles, pile driving and stone retaining walls 
• Supervision and quality control testing of earthworks for access road construction as well as other access road activities including: rock protection, open drain and pipe culvert construction 
• Efficient coordination and management of manpower on site.
• Site safety administration through the implementation of the safety policy and participation in the Safety Patrols. 
• Responsible for preparation and monitoring of construction schedules, work programs and daily site report writing. 
• Supervision of the Subcontractors to ensure safety, quality assurance and time constrains adherence for prompt delivery of the project. 
• Preparation of backup calculations for access road quantities for billing purposes. 
• Preparation and submission of contractual correspondence; Requests for Inspection (RFIs), and Method Statements.
