Simon Muthungu

Product-minded AI/ML engineer and backend developer with leadership experience across, among others, real estate and smart agriculture platforms. I blend technical precision with clear systems thinking, having led teams, built scalable APIs, integrated ML models, and shipped full products from concept to launch.

With nearly seven years of Python expertise, including four to five years as a Django developer, I bring a robust blend of technical precision and leadership to building innovative solutions. My experience spans backend development, AI/ML engineering, and project management, with a proven track record at HomeDispo and HouseHub, where I designed scalable APIs, optimized server-side logic, and integrated machine learning models for real-time property syncing and predictive analytics. As a Project Manager and QA Test Lead at HomeDispo, I spearheaded agile workflows, led cross-functional teams, and ensured product reliability using tools like Playwright and Selenium.

My work as AI Lead Developer at Enactus Club and Proacted further honed my ability to deliver data-driven solutions, including award-winning predictive models recognized at IndabaX 2024. Passionate about creating user-focused, efficient systems, I thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing technical excellence with strategic vision to drive impactful outcomes.

I am pursing a bachelors degree in computer science at Maseno University.

I have multiple certifications from freecodecamp to do with Python, javascript, AI and ML skills.
