I am Lawrence Kamau, a university student and visual storyteller specializing in illustration and animation. My work is driven by a strong interest in narrative, culture, and character-driven stories. I enjoy creating visuals that are both engaging and meaningful, with a particular focus on African identity and youth-centered storytelling.
Through my projects, I aim to communicate ideas clearly while maintaining a strong artistic voice. I am currently seeking opportunities in animation and illustration where I can continue to grow creatively and professionally.
I have had a lot of projects done in my time out of school which include: 2 comic books, One of which was sponsored by the National Museum of Kenya called The Story of Dedan Kimathi. The second is an original comic book titled My Big Fish which is main goal is to make people aware of femicide and at the very least prevent it.
I have also written and illustrated an African Attire Coloring Book which promotes African culture and way of life. I did all of these working with the JENGAIT program in the year 2024 until early 2025 March.
Besides illustrated projects, I've worked with Pungulu Pa in their Uli and Tata African Nursery Rhymes as a prop designer.
I am a psychology student at AMREF International University.
