• Undertake IPRAN routers pre-installation site surveys.
• Materials kitting.
• Oversee correct, quality and timely Installation and powering of IPRAN network equipment 7250 IXR-ec and 7210 SAS Sx.
• Preforming the equipment’s software upgrades both 7250 IXR-ec and 7210 SAS Sx.
•  Load site configuration files for 7250 IXR-ec and 7210 SAS Sx.
• Understanding and interpreting port mappings.
• Carry out service migration during allocated migration window.

Projects: Liquid / Google Multi-country backbone.

Field Engineer: Nokia Kenya September 2022 – December 2022. 

Achievements:

• Undertake DWDM photonic switch shelves (PSS) pre-installation site surveys.
• Materials kitting
• Ensure correct, quality and timely Installation and powering DWDM equipment’s i.e: Nokia PSS 8, PSS 16 and PSS 32.
• Installation report reading, understanding interpreting and patching as the port mappings.
• Preforming the equipment’s controller card software upgrades.
• Perform PCT tests

• Assist troubleshooting and replacing of faulty cards.

Achievements

• Oversee implementation of both active and passive (GPON) client connections.
• Support QM to implement fiber project quality check, including EHS check, and output field check report to QM, to make sure the project on the site is done according to the project quality criteria.
• Installation, configuration and integration of Aeronautical telecommunication routers (ATN’s) to their respective network rings.
• Conducts KCP inspection at project level and output QC Checklist
• Design reading, understanding interpreting and implementing high level designs from the FTTB & FTTH design team.
• Troubleshooting, interpreting and developing onsite fiber solutions and ensuring the fiber links are complete.
• Installations of access routers (AR’s) and optical network terminals on clients end.
• Client’s management throughout the implementation period.

March 2017 – August 2017 SAFARICOM IPRAN Aeronautical Telecommunication Router (ATN) 910i upgrade to ATN router 910c SWAP PROJECT.

Achievements

• Installation and powering of ATN 910c & PTN 6900s routers. 
• Configuration point to point IP’s and LSR ID’s for upgraded the ATN 910c /PTN 6900 routers.
• IP/MPLS reconfiguration of the upgraded ATN 910c
• Undertake SFP and link patching as well patch-codes management
• Assist in migration and commissioning of services for upgraded ATN 910c / PTN 6900 routers.
• Perform recovery ATN 910i router equipment’s.
• Patching at the homing Optical Line Terminal (OLT).

May 2016 – October 2016 SAFARICOM ADDITIONAL FTTS SITES (64 additional sites & 21 additional site), SAFARICOM ALARMS & MONITORING SOLUITON.

• Design reading, understanding interpreting and implementing high level designs from the FTTS design team.
• Installation, termination configuration of site alarm monitors.
