Liaising with shipping lines to know the position of various consignments from the time of their arrival in port.
Processing necessary payments to shipping lines, and obtaining from them documents that are required for effecting clearance of cargo.
Provide technical inputs to process reviews and improvements in methods and practices used within shipping, to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
Collection of documents from third parties i.e. shipping lines, inspection bodies and other government agencies on behalf of clients.
Overseeing the clearance and delivery/warehousing of goods for accounts under my responsibility.
Liaising with Mombasa office to ensure that transit cargo documents are prepared in goods time and the cargo is loaded for transit as soon as documentation is complete.
Liaising with border posts staff and informing them of when a given consignment is set to leave the port and when it is expected to reach the border and keeping track of the transporting vehicles until they safely deliver the goods to the designated border point.
Following up on documentation to ensure that they properly endorsed on Kenyan side and at the country of destination.
Retrieving of the documents from the border stations to ensure that bonds are cancelled in time.
Raise Purchase Orders and verify invoices, following the structured financial processes and procedures

Tea Exports Supervisor (Acting) - Bollore Transport and Logistics - Kenya

Provide training to all export team and perform assessment of all work and assist to achieve all export objectives and develop and maintain professional relationships with all clients and perform regular communication with all staff and clients.
Ensuring safe and efficient offloading of tea from trucks and ensuring orderly stacking and arrangement in the warehouse.
Design and implement all export strategies and activities and ensure adherence to all project requirements and prepare all export documents within required timeframe and schedule efficient shipping activities and identify appropriate transportation method in assistance with customers.
Sourcing for trucks for loading tea designated for auction in Mombasa and for tea designated for export
Sourcing for containers from shipping lines and ensuring containers are clean before stuffing and done orderly.
Analyzing and monitoring working hours for staff, and approving overtime periods worked.
Ensuring safety conditions are adhered to, by ensuring staff are in right gear always, and ensuring the stacks of tea are well arranged in a way that they do not pose any danger to all those working within that environment

Ensuring prompt collection of documents form clients.
Processing documents through various government agencies on behalf of clients.
Collecting documents from shipping lines i.e. shipping orders and bills of lading.
Processing documents through customs and K.P.A ensuring payments where necessary are made.
Receive and verify clients' invoices and ensure that all supporting documents are attached, and calculations are accurate
Making close follow up to ensure that the shipments connect the vessels they are booked on.
Advise clients on which documents are needed for export to regions.
Provide day-to-day reports on the progress and movements of various clients' shipments
To ensure that these documents are received from clients in good time to deliver cargo when it is needed.
Process documentation for execution of logistics operations (e.g. customs clearance, invoice verification), take appropriate actions to resolve operational issues escalating various issues to the supervisor
