I am an Environmental Engineer with special interest in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). I am a registered Environmental Health and Safety officer with the National Construction Authority of Kenya.
My interest in these facets of environmental engineering is driven by the realization that even the best designed infrastructure, be they roads, bridges, drainage systems or buildings, need to have people’s safety and environmental conservation as primary considerations. This has driven me to seek additional training and exposure in these two areas and to incrementally build my experience and expertise accordingly.
I therefore seek opportunities to join EIA and OHS teams in order to consolidate my experience and be able to serve in the best way possible in these areas for which I have a special passion. I am convinced that they are the cornerstones of developing infrastructure that will serve a world that is increasingly conscious of the need to ensure sustainable use of the natural environment, putting people before profit and developing climate-proofed infrastructure.
I have been fortunate to be part of the technical teams behind Kenya’s largest engineering project since independence, the Standard Gauge Railway, the Nairobi Western By-pass, the Nairobi Express Highway and currently overseeing the EHS department as a Supervisor with the Ongoing CUEA QWETU Spruce Properties. Under these projects I have gained invaluable experience in working in harmonious teams. In my section, I oversaw coordination and delivery of planned results to set timelines while adhering to strict standards.
