Managed residential construction projects including a 3 bedroom bungalow (160 sqm, Ksh 4,200,000) and 2 one bedroom cottages (65 sqm each, Ksh 1,900,000).
- Managed to deliver a 3 bedroom bungalow with a plinth area of about 160 sqm valued at a sum of Ksh 4,200,000 through a design – build project delivery arrangement and 2 one bedroom cottages with a plinth area of 65 sqm each valued at kes 1,900,000 through a labour provision contract.
- Sourced and contracted a professional architect and coordinated 10-15 tradesmen and labourers across multiple trades on behalf of the client.
- Conducted regular progress meetings with the architect and client to track project progress and authorize following phases.
- Ensured adherence to NCA standards, guiding tradesmen on the use of best construction methods & practices.
- Ensured 100% adherence to site safety rules and regulations by ensuring proper dressing and kitting of the labour force.
- Maintained all project documentation, constantly sharing it with relevant personnel when required.
- Resolved on-site disputes and held discussions with tradesmen and labourers on behalf of the client.
INTERNSHIP at Kenmos Engineering
- Was able to learn how to read and interpret structural drawings.
- Learnt how to prepare tender documents as well as appreciate how construction contract administration is carried out.
- Learnt how to phase and sequence a construction project into milestones on Ms Project software
- Attended site inspection meetings as well as pre-authorization meetings at the office.
INTERNSHIP at Landmark Holdings Limited (2017-06 – 2017-08)
- Assisted in maintaining and updating the site diary
- Attended daily site safety meetings and assisted the Health and safety officer in enforcement by ensuring all personnel on site were properly dressed and equipped with protective equipment.
- Attended weekly site inspection and progress meetings
- Assisted the project site manager in coordinating and overseeing different foremen and subcontractor works (skim coat application, tile works, landscaping, window glazing, on-site welding, office partitioning using MDF panels, HVAC systems installation, Aluminium composite panel installation, ceiling works and installation of electric and plumbing fixtures)
- Observed and assisted the store manager in ordering, receiving and handling construction material inventory
