Sarya Sarkis

Hello,

My name is Sarya Sarkis, I'm an Interior Architect with a masters in Retail & Commercial Design.

In summary, I graduated in 2015 from the Lebanese American University with a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture. Immediately after, I landed a job at Rabih Geha's bureau, where I contributed, for almost two years, to the design and execution of multiple projects with a focus on commercial spaces. Among these projects are "TwoWeeks club", "AHM club", "Mukhi Sisters" Flagship store, "Another" concept store.

After two years at RG Architects, I decided to pursue my professional education in Barcelona, and obtained my master’s degree in Retail Design from Elisava. During my master’s Year I was offered a job with "Tous" a Spanish jewelry brand, where I was asked to develop a new brand and space concept with the purpose of rolling out in the future to all their stores around the world. In the same wake I was also part of the team who has supervised the execution and deployment of the agreed design in 3 Flagship stores (2 stores located in Barcelona and the third in Madrid).

I came back to Lebanon to apply the knowledge I had gained in Retail and Commercial space design and joined Addmind Hospitality Group one of the leading food and beverage management and concept creation companies in the Middle East. During my time at Addmind I worked on the concept and design development of several well-known bars in the Middle East such as " Iris rooftop bar", "Mezcaleria", and "Clap".

In the wake of the tragic Beirut blast on August 4th 2020 i decided to join "Baytna Baytak" and invest all of my time and energy in the reconstruction and restoration of the damaged houses to cover minor, moderate or even severe damages.(e.g. Window and aluminum frame failure, wood panels and doors damaged, house structures, heritage buildings, etc. I have since then been developing my Project Management and teamwork skills.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on designing events & installations, from concept to development, execution, and operation. I have worked on projects in Saudi Arabia such as Formula 1, and on music festivals in Lebanon.

  Intern (2021-2022)

  • I was part of the experience team that created design solutions and space planning options for a telecommunications company through concept sketches, technical drawings and 3D modeling.
  • I also worked with the the design team and contributed to Bold Thinking to help create better outcomes for clients by using branding and the latest trends shaping our world of commerce, and branded experiences within retail and commercial environments.

  • Took part in a Design Research Lab for future trends where we investigated,

  ideated, prototypes and communicated the solutions to important and future design, societal and business challenges.

  • Worked on the development of three flagship stores in which the latest concept, research and technologies are implemented.
