Job Description

Join the team responsible for the backbone of Wix’s development ecosystem.

The Platform

Engineering team provides a suite of integrated tools designed to eliminate friction and reduce cognitive load for engineers across the company. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about developer experience and eager to build the frameworks that allow our teams to focus on their unique business logic rather than infrastructure hurdles.

In your day-to-day, you will:

Design and write code using Scala and Java

Build and improve Wix Scala Framework to increase developer productivity

Work with ProtoBuf, gRPC, code generators, Bazel, and Docker

Solve interesting design dilemmas

Make an impact on how Wix backend developers write code more efficiently

Optimize and streamline how AI agents generate code within our ecosystem

Partner with infrastructure and product teams to find the best solutions

Support and improve developer framework based on user requests

Lead and deliver high scale projects end to end

Keep core libraries and runtime up-to-date

Qualifications

You have extensive experience with server-side JVM technologies (Java, Scala, or other)

You’re experienced in software design, coding, and production You have strong written and verbal communication skills

You understand and can write multithreaded code, specifically a web server's request lifecycle

Have practiced Test Driven Development (TDD)

Are able to conduct performance analysis for a system and find its bottlenecks

It’s an advantage if you:

Have contributed to open-source software

Have spoken in developer meetups, conferences or have a blog about software engineering
