Software Engineer (Frontend) - Digital Factory
Grade: Supervising Partner Department: Digital Factory
Job Introduction: The Software Engineer (Frontend) is responsible for the design and delivery of modern, high-quality web user interfaces for enterprise-grade digital products within the Digital Factory. Playing a key role in an API-centric delivery environment, this position collaborates closely with the Product, UX, Backend, Architecture, and Delivery teams to build scalable, secure, accessible, and maintainable frontend solutions for regulated enterprise contexts.
At a Supervising Partner level, this role drives complex frontend deliveries, sets technical direction, and builds frontend engineering capabilities across initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery through complex frontend workflows, making design decisions and resolving cross-team dependencies, accessibility risks, and escalations.
- Mentor engineers, enforce frontend standards, and drive improvements in architecture, design system reuse, accessibility, security, performance, testing, and technical debt management.
- Design, implement, and maintain modern web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks or libraries.
- Develop component-oriented user interfaces aligned with UX/UI designs, design systems, and accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines.
- Implement client-side routing, state management, and modular application frameworks with a focus on clarity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Quality Engineering
- Apply frontend engineering principles that are transferable across frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or equivalent technologies.
- Write clean, well-structured, readable, maintainable, and testable JavaScript and TypeScript code.
- Demonstrate awareness of the responsible use of AI and proficiency in leveraging AI tools, including effective solicitation techniques and token-efficient solicitation design.
- User Experience
- Apply frontend performance best practices, including lazy loading, efficient rendering, asset optimization, and performance diagnostics.
- Ensure consistent behavior across browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
- Diagnose and resolve frontend performance, usability, and accessibility issues using standard tools.
- Continuous Improvement
- Implement secure frontend development practices to protect against common web vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrate risk awareness of third-party dependencies, license management, dependency updates, and vulnerability management.
- Keep up with the company's security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate successful leadership in complex frontend delivery, improved engineering capability, and consistent adoption of architecture, accessibility, and quality standards.

- Delivering modern, accessible, maintainable, and scalable frontend solutions.
- Solid JavaScript and TypeScript implementation quality with clean, testable, and reusable code.
- Effective use of web standards, accessibility practices, API-driven collaboration, and frontend architecture patterns.
- Improved frontend performance, usability, reliability, and consistency across devices and browsers.
- Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- Solid professional experience with modern frontend development using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Good understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, browser behavior, accessibility, responsive design, and investigation of tool performance (e.g., Chrome dev tools).
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework or library, such as Angular, React, Vue, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience consuming REST APIs in an API-driven or contract-driven environment.
- Familiarity with frontend testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and shared development standards.
- Work effectively in a team, contributing to collective success while remaining open to feedback and coaching from more experienced colleagues.
- Knowledge of frontend security fundamentals, dependency management, privacy, and enterprise compliance expectations.
- 7 years of experience are required.
- Experience with templates and state management libraries.
- Knowledge of design systems, enterprise UI platforms, and accessibility-focused delivery.
- Experience in enterprise digital delivery or in regulated environments.
- Team collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of the use of AI, solicitation skills, how to use AI tools - effective solicitations in tokens.
