Currently working for the Norwegian Refugees Council as the Legal Coordinator for the whole country covering West and East. The following are the main responsibilities:
I am responsible to developing, managing and leading the legal work in Libya, including in Tripoli, Benghazi, Ajdabyia, Tarhuna and Tawergha. Also responsible to ensure that proper legal advice/support is provided to population in need and that the services are provided according to NRC guidelines and procedures.
Line management of Core Competency project legal field staff .Provide regular progress reports to Project Manager.
Line manager for the whole legal team including external consultants (11 legal staff).
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
Oversee the quality of legal counselling and legal assistance delivered by NRC ICLA lawyers. Draft of national guidance (SOP, Legal Fact Sheets, tools) on all thematic areas of intervention.
Preparation of training packages and training on guidance to both paralegal and legal teams Periodic Report quantitative and qualitative analysis of para-legal and legal caseload based on the ICLA strategy. Lead all the spectrum of legal assistance in the field.
Draft and update internal guidance documents (SOPs, legal factsheets, policy briefs) on the four thematic areas of intervention (Refugee Registration, Legal and Civil Documentation, work right and Housing Rights).
Supporting external contracted consultants preparing reports on research subjects and collating data and information on beneficiary needs and protection issues arising related to the research subjects Meeting with national and international governmental actors working on different legal issues.
Mentor and guide Legal, Paralegal staff and provide them with technical advice for legal cases.

Conduct legal research and prepare written reports and guidelines on legal issues. Provision of information, legal counselling and further legal support to ICLA beneficiaries. Review of current caseload and provide written legal counselling. Conduct Group session information with beneficiaries. Legal training and capacity building to the team on the legal practice. Case management for beneficiaries in Tripoli and Benghazi.
