Position Overview

Seeking a practical, hands-on Python Developer to build and maintain conversational chatbots, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and specific AI integrations. Focuses entirely on implementation and integration rather than theoretical AI research. Requires writing clean code, connecting existing systems, and helping the current team level up technically.

Reporting to: Sr. Manager, Digital Transformation at PlayPower, Dallas, TX, USA

Office Location: Play Design International for Play Power Inc. in Casablanca, Morocco

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Build & Integrate: Develop backend logic for RAG-based chatbots and AI features using Python.
• Orchestration: Connect various APIs, LLMs, and data sources using frameworks like Semantic Kernel.
• Cloud Integration: Deploy, manage, and optimize AI models and services within the Azure AI ecosystem.
• Team Mentorship: Act as a technical guide for the existing development team, conducting code reviews and helping them understand AI integration best practices.
• Maintain & Optimize: Ensure the reliability, speed, and scalability of the chatbot integrations.
• Additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related business discipline.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with related field.
• Python Expertise: Strong, production-grade writing skills in Python and standard web frameworks (FastAPI, etc.).
• Framework Experience: Hands-on experience building applications with orchestration frameworks, specifically Semantic Kernel (or similar like LangChain/LlamaIndex).
• Azure AI Services: Solid experience working within Azure (Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, etc.) will be a plus.
• Database & Search: Experience with vector databases or search engines like Azure AI Search used in RAG pipelines will be a plus
• Mentoring: Proven ability or strong willingness to coach and support junior/mid-level developers.
• Language: Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with local LLM tools and playgrounds (e.g., Ollama, LM Studio).
• Familiarity with Azure CI/CD pipelines.
