This role in summary

Associate engineer leads product engineering changes such as new product development, cost reduction projects, quality improvement, regulatory plan with government and daily support with Factory in order to cover production issues or emergencies. The position is located in Mexico,and will join a team of 7 people responsible for cost reduction and quality improvement program for existing products sold in NAR & DOM market. Whirlpool employs approximately 24,000 people, has a sales presence in 35 markets and 15 manufacturing and technology research centers in 8 countries.

This opportunity is located in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon,at the Engineering Center and it is part of the Global Engineering Organization for product development, that aims to support people development and product leadership development across the organization.

Your responsibilities will include

Lead cost opportunity projects

Lead quality activities to continue improving the Customer experience

Support the scoping of new initiatives related to the product`s improvement.

Manage Budget requests and expenditure orders as well as a yearly budget program per year.

Cooperate with cross-functional areas such as Manufacturing, Marketing, Procurement & service toward the execution of product initiatives as well of the scoping phase of said initiatives.

Manage the product BOM during the execution of cost & quality projects.

Effectively communicate with cross-functional co-workers to move projects along, detect risks and opportunities to improve a project`s timing.

Minimum requirements

Education desired: Engineering background - Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial.

Advanced level of English

Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools is welcome

Knowledge or skills of project management is welcome

Previous experience on project management or engineering product development area is welcome

Microsoft office and/or Google Sheets knowledge is a must.
