AWS JAVA Developer

Job Overview

In this role you will work in one of IBM Consulting’s Client Innovation Centers, delivering deep technical and industry expertise to public and private sector clients worldwide. You will help these clients advance their hybrid‑cloud and AI capabilities through innovative software solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, and support—for solutions that enable clients' hybrid‑cloud and AI journeys.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, flexible, and secure application components.
• Develop and deploy robust, high‑performance AWS‑based applications, ensuring alignment with IBM’s strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AWS services and other cloud technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot issues, contributing to cost optimization, performance tuning, fault tolerance, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Stay current with emerging cloud computing trends and best practices, especially within the financial services sector.
• Lead innovation through collaboration, guiding peers on tools and technology trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language: Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, and EKS.
• Strong React.js experience.
• Expertise in AWS cloud‑architectural concepts: deployment, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Understanding of financial services and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
