This is a full-time product engineering position that starts with a 1-year technical rotational program for our engineering graduates.
This program develops technical skills and allows exposure to major facets of our business.
This program includes 3-4 cross functional rotations with ultimate placement within our product engineering team.
- Product Engineering XRP program includes numerous training and development aspects.
- Mentorship – Individuals will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program.
- Plant Tours – Opportunities to visit different YF manufacturing locations.
- Individual Development Plans (IDPs) – Individuals will work collaboratively with the XRP committee and their mentor on goal setting and defining a career map.
- Networking – Individuals are guided and encouraged to network and engage with employees from other functions as well as upper YF management.
- Soft Skill Development & Training – Examples include communication, active listening, presentation practice & leadership skills.
- Broader YF XRP Community – Events & activities cross-functionally with other department XRPs.Additional- Learn to deliver component and system designs that meet customer performance and manufacturing requirements.
- Learn to conduct design assessments to ensure manufacturing and performance risks are addressed.
- Learn to identify and resolve design related issues using tools such as 8D and 5-why.
- Learn to manage customer interface.
- Understand how to use calculations, CAE, prototyping, and testing to confirm product performance.
- Create timelines and tactical plans that ensure on time delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Learn to utilize Lean Engineering principles in all facets of work.Required- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering - or equivalent degree.
