Application Support Engineer to be based in Villahermosa, Tabasco
As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible in providing L2 application & workflow support to users (internal & external). You will also be a proxy in communication with Engineering team to the services the DDH provided.
Responsibilities Include (not Limited To)
- Service Operations Execution - executing data loading procedures, executing computation of Rig states / Drill states and drilling KPI, checking results of the computations and configuring computation parameters, configuring new drilling KPI on demand.
- Infrastructure Management - servers, virtual machines, Oracle database, backup / recovery solution, administration of Performance Insights.
- Customer & workflow support - making sure that system is available to users, consulting on user workflow, KPI presentation, collecting user requirements and communicating with engineering team. Manage support requests/tickets over Enterprise Service Management (ESM) according to the actual Service Level Agreement.
The candidate must be self-starter, understand responsibility & accountability on each job taken and able to work with autonomy in a remote collaboration environment.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain Infrastructure – making sure that all servers and VM are running, monitoring backups, making sure that the application is accessible by the users. The VMs are on AZURE
- Administer Performance Insights system – this includes creating new projects on demand, configure pre-default templates, managing users access to the projects
- Maintain data flow - configure automated data loading and QC procedures for drilling sensors data and daily drilling reports, monitor data loading process, reporting QC issues to users
- Maintain computation of drilling KPI - configure RigState and DrillState computations, configure KPI computations, monitor computations, check quality of the computations versus daily drilling data
- Provide help and consultation to users how to access and use RigHour system, explanation of KPIs meaning and values.
- Collect user requirements
- Configuring new drilling KPIs
- Communicate issue and user requirements with Performance Insights engineering team
- Notify customers with New Releases and Technical Alerts
- Oracle database – knowledge of SQL required and 3rd party tools such as Oracle PL/SQL Developer
- Preferable – good understanding & knowledge of Microsoft PowerApps suite
- Preferable – good understanding & knowledge of Data Analytics methodology
- Preferable – good understanding & knowledge of Cloud Platforms (eg: AZURE, AWS, GCP)
- Basic knowledge of Schlumberger Techlog, Techlog Drilling Intepretation
- Basic knowledge of E&P
- Basic knowledge of Schlumberger InterACT, WITSML, Data Aggregator, Bluebox, Edge Devices
- Good Knowledge of drilling domain, specifically understanding of well construction phases – i.e. drilling, casing, tripping etc.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems – Linux, Windows Server
- Basic knowledge of IIS Web server and Active Directory/LDAP
- Basic knowledge of Network architecture and other infrastructure components
- Fluent in English – verbal & written.
- Effective Communication & Presentation skills
- Self driven and ability to manage his/her own work with utmost responsibility & accountability
- Able to adapt & comfortable working in a global, international, and multicultural environment with daily remote collaboration
- Experience/knowledge of dealing with customers and software engineering teams
- Minimum: BS degree level in IT, Engineering or in Oil & Gas discipline with IT experience
- 3 years experience in the advertised Skillsets
