We are looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer to join our organization. In this position, you will apply your skills in Java and/or Kotlin to create secure, observable, and cloud-native applications on Azure.
You will architect containerized microservices, manage deployments on Kubernetes, and make key architectural choices to deliver robust and scalable systems.
Architect and implement containerized microservices in Java or Kotlin with clear domain separation
Oversee the creation and maintenance of OpenAPI specifications, promoting contract-first API development
Develop resilient API controllers with features such as validation, version control, idempotency, and error management
Produce thorough unit, integration, and contract tests with strong coverage and meaningful checks
Integrate structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and health monitoring into services
Maximize efficiency of data storage solutions, including relational, NoSQL, and object stores, based on usage patterns
Prepare design documentation and architecture diagrams using tools like Markdown, C4, or Visio alternatives
Work with Azure offerings such as Key Vault, managed databases, messaging services, container registries, and monitoring platforms
Enforce security best practices, including least privilege access, secrets management, dependency management, and threat assessment
Support event-driven system designs, including producer and consumer roles, schema evolution, and streaming with Kafka
Manage CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, YAML pipelines, and scripting in Bash or PowerShell Core
Engage in code reviews, collaborative programming sessions, and continuous solution refinement
Promote system resilience through strategies like timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation
Guide and mentor mid-level and junior engineers, providing technical leadership
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer
At least one year of experience leading and managing engineering teams
Proven track record in developing production APIs with Java and/or Kotlin
Deep understanding of containerization and Kubernetes deployment methodologies
Practical experience with Azure services, including Key Vault, at least one data platform, and monitoring solutions
Strong knowledge of HTTP, RESTful API principles, and the complete API development lifecycle
Background in event-driven architectures, including streaming, pub/sub, and resilient consumer design
Proficiency in automated testing, covering unit, integration, and ideally contract testing
Applied expertise in security, including authentication, authorization, secret handling, and dependency risk management
Advanced debugging and performance tuning skills, including profiling, thread and heap analysis, and query optimization
English language proficiency at B2+ level or higher, both written and spoken
Experience with Go (Golang) for internal tooling or optimizing high-performance components
Background in developing APIs using a variety of programming languages
Knowledge of asynchronous messaging platforms like Kafka, schema versioning, or change data capture (CDC) techniques
Understanding of distributed tracing protocols such as W3C trace context and familiarity with SLO and error budget practices
Hands-on experience with resilience frameworks like Resilience4j or service mesh solutions
Previous involvement in insurance, fintech, or other regulated sectors
