We are looking for a Lead Database Engineer to keep mission-critical databases reliable, high-performing, and secure across multi-cloud platforms.

You will partner with SREs, platform engineering, and application teams to automate operations, strengthen HA/DR, and resolve incidents in a follow-the-sun model. Apply to help run and evolve our core data platforms.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and upgrade MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Oracle databases

Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance

Manage backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery plans

Implement and maintain database security controls and user access

Set up replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions

Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and supporting tools

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues

Document configurations, standards, and operating procedures

Collaborate with DevOps and development teams

Requirements

Proven experience in database engineering or administration with 5 years of professional experience

Advanced administration skills across MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL or Oracle

Hands-on scripting ability with Shell or Python for automation work

Solid experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI and IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible

Working knowledge of monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana or ELK

Practical familiarity with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Azure or GCP

Strong background in database security, replication and high availability

Willingness to participate in rotational on-call, overlapping regional shifts and weekend coverage

Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a follow-the-sun model with SREs, platform engineering and application teams

Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)
