About Position

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions. The role will develop secure, scalable data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and serving layers using Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services. The engineer will partner with business, analytics, architecture, governance, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable data products and semantic models that support reporting and advanced analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Data Warehouse workloads.
  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, PySpark, Python, and SQL.
  • Implement Medallion Architecture across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers to support governed and reusable data products.
  • Build secure ingestion frameworks for batch and, where required, near-real-time data from cloud, on-premises, structured, and semi-structured sources.
  • Design dimensional models, curated data marts, and semantic data layers for enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Integrate Fabric solutions with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL.
  • Optimize Spark jobs, SQL queries, pipelines, storage layouts, and warehouse workloads for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement data quality controls, validation rules, monitoring, alerting, metadata management, governance, and lineage.
  • Apply security and access-control standards across workspaces, data products, and analytics layers.
  • Create automated build, test, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD practices.
  • Partner with Power BI developers to deliver governed semantic models and reliable datasets for reporting.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve platform stability and supportability.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, technical documentation, coding standards, estimation, and Agile delivery ceremonies.
  • Communicate technical options, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

Expertise You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, business intelligence, or analytics engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Data Warehouse.
  • Strong expertise in PySpark, Python, and advanced SQL for data transformation and pipeline development.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable data ingestion frameworks.
  • Practical experience implementing Medallion Architecture and modern lakehouse or data warehouse solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and semantic layer design.
  • Experience with performance tuning, data quality, observability, governance, metadata, and lineage management.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, semantic models, and enterprise reporting patterns.
  • Experience with Git-based development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and release management.
  • Understanding of cloud security, role-based access control, data privacy, and secure engineering practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale analytics initiatives in an Agile delivery environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certification related to Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, or Power BI.
  • Experience migrating Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or legacy warehouse workloads to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with Delta Lake, deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, or real-time analytics workloads.
