Node Developer at BairesDev In this role, you'll work as an AI-first Backend Engineer, leveraging AI tools to break down problems, build implementation plans, and accelerate development, with AI typically producing 60-70% of the code while you guide, refine, and complete solutions. This isn't traditional backend development; you'll use strong prompt engineering skills to ensure AI generates clear, manageable, and technically sound results, stepping in to support, refine, or unblock when needed. What You'll Do
- Use AI tools to break down high-level tickets and product ideas into implementation plans.
- Leverage AI to generate and accelerate implementation, guiding and refining code produced by AI assistants.
- Apply strong prompt engineering skills to ensure AI outputs are clear, manageable, and technically sound.
- Debug and optimize applications with focus on memory management, performance optimization, and logging.
- Build backend solutions using Node.js and Express.js.
- Develop and deploy in heavily containerized environments.
What we are looking for
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with Express.js.
- Experience working with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude, or Copilot integrated into the IDE.
- Strong debugging skills, including memory management, performance optimization, logging, and metric tools.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Background working in heavily containerized environments with Docker.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
