Operations Manager
ProofVisionDescripción del puesto
Role summary (Mission)
We are an agile SME launching a high-end outdoor TV brand. We have the components in motion and the contract manufacturer chosen, and we now in a position to hire a hands-on Operations Leader based in Mexico to own the "last mile" of our launch. You aren't just managing a process; you are building the engine.
You will be the person on the factory floor ensuring every unit is perfect, every component is tracked in the ERP, and every shipment clears the border without a hitch, alongside building the front end of the business a US/DTC marketplace/Website initial launch plan. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a startup scenario with a business that has a track record in Europe. Primary responsibilities
· Take ownership of inbound components already in transit; receive, audit, and organize storage at the Contract Manufacturer · Implement the chosen ERP; map China PO → Mexico production → US sale and ensure data discipline.
· Validate line readiness with the CM: layout, kitting, SOPs, QC checkpoints, and first-run readiness.
· You are the final word on quality. You will personally audit the first units, validate the weatherproofing seals, and ensure the CM’s staff is following SOPs to the letter.
· Coordinate Mexico→US freight and 3PL readiness; ensure first shipments flow without border delays.
· Audit packaging execution at the CM and monitor damage rates; drive corrective actions.
· Define and operationalize warranty/returns/service and all front end business workflows of the business · US environmental compliance: e-waste and battery requirements (registration, labeling, ongoing reporting).
· Operate as cross-border “single point of truth” and rapid issue resolver.
The Profile: Who You Are
SME Veteran: You thrive in small, fast-moving teams. You are used to having limited resources and "wearing multiple hats" to get the job done.
Hands-On Operator: You are bored by sitting in meetings all day. You prefer being on the factory floor, in the warehouse, or inside the ERP system solving real problems.
Quality Obsessed: You have a "zero-defect" mindset. You understand that for a new brand, one bad customer review about a leaky TV can be fatal.
Bilingual & Border-Fluent: You are based in Tijuana, speak fluent English and Spanish, and understand the cultural nuances of working with a Mexican CM while meeting US DTC expectations.
Technical Generalist: You understand enough about electronics, logistics, and software (ERP/Shopify) to troubleshoot issues across the entire business.
Key Personality
Characteristics (The "DNA")
The "Muck-In" Spirit: You don't say "that's not my job." If a pallet needs labeling or a test fixture needs fixing to hit a deadline, you do it.
High Attention to Detail: You notice the small things—a loose screw, a typo on a customs form, or a sync error in the ERP—before they become big problems.
Resilient Problem Solver: You expect things to go wrong during a launch and you enjoy the challenge of fixing them under pressure.
Direct Communicator: You provide "brutal honesty" regarding production status. You don't sugarcoat delays; you provide solutions
Qualifications (Must-haves)
· Proven Mexico-based manufacturing operations experience.
· Hands-on ERP implementation experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment (implementation, inventory, BOM/builds).
· Experience with consumer electronics operations (handling, QC, returns/service).
· Comfort operating across DTC/marketplace fulfillment flows with a 3PL (order flow, tracking, exceptions).
· Bilingual English/Spanish (professional fluency).
Able and willing to be on-site frequently at the Tijuana Contract Manufacturer
