In this role, you will join an established engineering environment at Forte, collaborating across international teams to deliver high-quality digital platforms. You will work on an enterprise cloud platform for reservoir management, asset evaluation, and forecasting in the energy sector, building the high-performance core services, internal APIs, and scalable data processing workflows that power complex real-time analytics.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Python, you will contribute to its success by taking end-to-end ownership of scoping and shipping features, translating ambiguous product requirements into concrete technical proposals, communicating tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, and mentoring team members through thoughtful code reviews and architecture documentation to elevate developer experience across the organization.

Key Competencies

• Architect, build, and maintain robust platform services, internal tooling, and high-performance data processing pipelines to support complex analytics and large-scale data ingestion workloads.
• Design clean, well-typed REST or gRPC APIs and internal service contracts, ensuring long-term maintainability, strong documentation, and backward compatibility.
• Enhance CI/CD practices, automated testing frameworks, and cloud-native deployments to streamline developer workflows and ensure production system reliability.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 5 years of experience in software engineering, with production-grade Python 3.12 , mandatory type annotations (pyright), async/await paradigms, and static analysis tools like ruff.
• Solid hands-on experience building web services using FastAPI or Flask with Gunicorn, combined with REST/gRPC API design, OpenAPI contracts, and MongoDB schema design, indexing, and aggregation pipelines.
• Demonstrated expertise in data engineering and processing using pandas, numpy, scipy, polars, or PyArrow, along with columnar formats like Parquet and Avro connected to data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
• Strong practical skills in containerization (Docker, Docker Compose), package management (uv), automated testing (pytest), GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, and Bash scripting.

Nice to Have Skills

• Direct experience deploying and operating services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GCS.
• Familiarity with AI Integration, including LLM APIs or agent frameworks to wire AI capabilities into enterprise products.
• Prior domain exposure to the energy, oil & gas, or financial asset evaluation sectors.

Qualifications

• Strong ownership mindset with a proven ability to drive initiatives independently from scoping to deployment and iteration.
• Excellent technical writing skills to produce Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), system diagrams, and clear technical specs.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and non-technical business stakeholders.
