Senior Java Developer

We’re looking for a

Senior Java Software Engineer in Mexico who enjoys building scalable applications and working on modern, high-impact digital solutions.

In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative and agile team, contributing to the development of web applications and services that power seamless digital experiences across multiple platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Framework
• Build and integrate REST/SOAP APIs
• Contribute to web and mobile application development
• Collaborate closely with engineers and tech leads in an Agile environment
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement practices
• Help design technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisions

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in Java development
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, and Spring (MVC, Security, etc.)
• Experience working with APIs (REST & SOAP)
• Solid understanding of SQL and databases (Oracle or similar)
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular
• Knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices
• Experience with application security concepts (authentication/authorization)

Nice to have:

• Experience with TDD, CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to React or modern JS frameworks
• Background in e-commerce or payment systems

Other details:

• Contractor role
• Remote until June/July, then hybrid (2 to 3 times per week)
• Advanced English is required (you’ll be working with international teams)
• Open to candidates across Mexico
