Senior Python Developer

At Unosquare, we are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our team.

In this role, you will design and build Python-based interoperability services, integrating healthcare standards such as FHIR and C-CDA, and developing scalable APIs that enable secure data exchange across healthcare systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and engineers, contributing to technical design, integrations with EMR systems, and the development of reliable, compliant solutions in a HIPAA/HITRUST environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build REST APIs using Python (FastAPI / Flask)
• Implement FHIR integrations and C-CDA transformations
• Integrate with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.)
• Build scalable services on Azure (Container Apps / Function Apps)
• Ensure observability, performance, and reliability across distributed systems
• Collaborate on architecture, integrations, and engineering best practices

Requirements

✔ 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend, or API development

✔ Strong expertise in Python and REST APIs

✔ Experience with FHIR, healthcare interoperability, or EMR integrations

✔ Experience with Azure cloud services and scalable architectures

✔ Strong collaboration and communication skills

✨ Nice to have: HL7 v2, HTML→PDF pipelines, Terraform/Bicep, Azure API Management, HIPAA/HITRUST knowledge.
