Software Requirements Engineer

Software Requirements Specification

• Review and understand System Requirements and System Architecture for Product Family, as well as any software-specific Customer Requirements. Translate these into Software Requirements, creating the Software
• Requirement Specification, which is the basis of the complete software lifecycle, and the basis for communication within the software team.
• Ensure full traceability and coverage and adherence to the defined processes.
• Review current software systems and creation of internal Software Requirements.
• Liaise with System, Software and Test Engineering to technically analyse, develop and allocate software requirements, and to ensure full traceability according to the Software V-Model.
• Manage requirements baselines. Perform engineering assessment of all subsequent internal and external change Requests made to the project and translation of same into specific software requirements specification updates.
• Support Software Architects with High-Level Design documentation as needed and ensure full traceability between Software Requirements Specification and Software Architecture High-Level Design.
• Assist with requirements estimation as contribution into project scheduling

Software Requirements methodology and tools:

• Participate with System and Software team members in process improvement and refinement.
• Identify the best practices.
• Identify the tools and standards applicable for the related projects.
• Provide technical support to the software team in software requirements tools and methodologies.
• Participate in requirements management planning.
• Learn and contribute to the tools required for efficient requirements management

Minimum 3 years Software Engineering experience

• Experience with DOORS for requirements management would be a distinct advantage
• Experience with automotive customers and/or requirements engineering in automotive or similar domain is an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good technical knowledge of Embedded Systems and Software
