Sr. Backend Engineer / API Developer (Java, Python, AWS)

Join a high-impact engineering team building scalable APIs and cloud-native solutions. We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in Java, Python, AWS, and Microservices Architecture to design, build, and scale backend services and system integrations in a cloud-native environment.

This role is primarily focused on backend development, APIs, and microservices, with minimal frontend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Build and enhance microservices-based architectures using Java and Python.
• Develop scalable, high-availability cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Design API contracts, integrations, and service communication patterns.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation and cloud deployment strategies.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Python in production environments.
• Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong experience with Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend engineering best practices.
• Advanced English communication skills (B2+/C1).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with API Management platforms (Gravitee, Apigee, Kong, etc.).
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience building high-volume, highly scalable systems.
• Previous experience in fintech, enterprise platforms, or SaaS products.
