The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our Tableau environment.
They will ensure the seamless operation of Tableau, support data visualization needs across the organization, and contribute to data governance and security practices.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server environments.
Monitor server performance and ensure high availability of Tableau services.
Manage server security, user permissions, and roles.
Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau Server issues, including connectivity, performance, and user access.
Assist users with Tableau Desktop installations and upgrades.
Provide support and guidance on data visualization best practices and Tableau features.
Collaborate with data analysts, developers, and business users to create, modify, and publish dashboards and reports.
Connect Tableau to various data sources, including databases, data warehouses, and cloud services.
Manage and optimize data connections, extract schedules, and data refreshes.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across Tableau reports.
Analyze and optimize the performance of Tableau workbooks and dashboards.
Implement best practices for efficient use of Tableau resources.
Conduct regular audits and performance tuning of Tableau Server and workbooks.
Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau features, functionality, and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation for Tableau processes and procedures.
Assist with user adoption and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with data security standards.
Manage access controls and data permissions to protect sensitive information.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure secure data environments.
Develop and maintain scripts for automation of Tableau administrative tasks using tools like Python, PowerShell, or Tableau's REST API.
Automate Tableau backup and recovery processes.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into actionable Tableau solutions.
Partner with data engineering and IT teams to ensure the integration of Tableau with data pipelines and other tools.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Tableau Administrator or similar role.
Proven experience with Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop.
Experience with data warehousing, SQL, and ETL processes.
Proficiency in Tableau Server administration, including installation, configuration, and management.
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and Tableau REST API.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and integrating Tableau with cloud services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Tableau Certification (Tableau Desktop Certified Associate, Tableau Server Certified Associate).
Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik).
