Playground Leader at City of laredo Parks and Recreation (2025-05 – 2025-09)

I was a Leader for a summer program that offered parents and guardians a convenient place for their children during the summer while they worked and offered the children fun and educational activities through the summer from Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. This schedule was able to give the kids almost the same kind of schedule as a school day while also being offered breakfast and lunch. Every day I would work with my playground assistants that were stationed with me at El Eden Rec Center and helped keep the kids entertained and active through many indoor and outdoor physical games and arts and crafts activities.

I made sure every child was safe and enjoyed their time every day and push for the children to always have fun and participate in the activities as much as possible.

Substitute Teacher at Teachers Now (2024-02 – 2024-05)

Substituted for all three harmony schools in my city which included the elementary, middle school, and high school. I would take over the daily duties of any teachers that may be out and offer TA duties as well if there were no teachers absent on the days I showed up. I would offer education for teachers who were gone for longer periods of time to ensure the children would get educated and stay learning.

Intern public health educator at Texas A&M International University (2023-02 – 2023-11)

I worked with the city of Laredo as an intern with the public health promoters and educators to help the citizens of Laredo learn and understand the many programs that are offered to them. I would help promote nutritional health, promote people for immunizations with the health clinic, and help promote medical plans for those who had no insurance. I was treated as an extra employee by the department and assisted with the setting up of tables, handing out flyers, and always had my best self forward to help the people of Laredo see that we care for their health and their safety.

Internship with Public Health Department at Texas A&M International University (2023-02 – 2023-11)

During my Fall and Spring semesters, I was an intern with Health Promotion with the Public health department in Laredo. I would go out and do outreach within communities to help people learn about our programs, show what we offer for people that may be struggling and go out for large scale events where I would speak with hundreds of people through the event and teach and inform them all to better protect the health of our city and our communities.

English Tutor at TAMIU LBV Literacy Partnership (2022-02 – 2023-05)

Work one-on-one with students who are in need of assistance with reading and writing. I worked personally with 1st-3rd graders being patient with them and helped them have the confidence to look forward to reading and writing while slowly building up their reading levels with encouragement and helpful comments. I teach with 5 students a day for 3 days every week at their school, Henry Cuellar Elementary.

Dealt with daily sales of items, sold and offered our credit card and loyalty programs. Give satisfactory attitudes and dealt with customers while standing for hours at a time with a smile.

Volunteer as a coach during the summer to watch and keep kids active. I would help keep them in shape and offer fun activities to keep their brains active such as arts and crafts. my only great accomplishment was that I was able to get the kids excited to work out whenever I would enter the gym.
