María Guadalupe Segovia Ramírez

I am a biologist focused on genomic and bioinformatic tools for the discovery of hidden patterns and signals that allow us to identify biomarkers for any purpose. My greatest areas of interest are Ecology and Evolution at any level. I acquired experience in soil genomics, plant physiology and bioprospection from my current job.

I am very efficient designing projects to get solutions for any requirement. I also have deep experience in wet lab using and designing molecular tools like PCR, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, primer designing and work with no model organisms. I have 5 years of experience in genome mining for functional profiling and an 10

years of expertise in phylogenetic comparative methods and biology related field work. I have almost 3 years of expertise in Biomarker selection from microbial communities and Omics data.

I am part of the scientific core team at the company, all my responsibilities and activities are based on functional genomics and the ecology and evolution of soil communities and environment factors. My job at Solena consists of genomic analyses focused on genome mining to conduct genomic agricultural functional profiling from genomes and metagenomes. This means that I can predict all posibble functions for a strain from genome to performed a guided validation with at the moment 100% of accuracy.

I have a PhD in Ciences focussed in genomics and ecology. I also have a master degree in the same fields and My Bachelor is in biology. I have two courses in Geographic informaiton systems and currently I have wide experience in genome mining, bioinformatics, project managment and research in agriscience and in pharmacy
