My name is Will Freeman. I am an English teacher and graduate of Cambridge university living and working in Mexico City. I've been here for half a year and have a full teaching schedule with 20 teaching hours. I teach a range of ages from 11-18 and also adults privately. Further, I have a CELTA qualification from York St John University. My Cambridge degree earnt a high 2:1 grade.
I have risen to the challenge of my current job, where teachers are given a very large amount of responsibility in lesson planning. The job has involved teaching some very challenging groups - the 7th grade are notorious for behaviour issues; and I have designed and ran projects, such as a successful poetry project with the 11th grade, the first of its kind.
Previously, I have worked as an English tutor, addressing a wide range of needs, ages and curricula - from adults with special needs to teenagers working towards school exams. The fact that I set my tutoring work up myself by going door to door attests to my initiative. In addition, my experience working with people with learning disabilities UBU demonstrates transferable skills such as pastoral care and developing people's communication.
Thirdly, through teaching in Mexico and travelling solo through South American countries, I have discovered a love for Latin American cultures and the Spanish language. I speak Spanish to an intermediate standard and would love the chance to improve it. Cultures and languages are a particular interest of mind: I also speak Russian to an intermediate standard and Arabic to an elementary standard. My ambition is to teach English in many different countries, and especially in Central and South America.
Bearing all this in mind, I would like to be considered for the role of English teacher at your school. I hope to hear from you soon.
