Debug Engineer

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Debug Engineer located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

What a typical day looks like:

• Ensure SOPs are created for team responsibilities related 5S, Spares, False failure reduction, FPY improvement, Escalation, Supplier support, Production plan execution
• Ensure the overall Debug clearance plan are executed on timely manner.
• Evaluate and configure digital circuits using Field programable Gate Array (FPGA) and Ball Grid Array (BGA).
• Resolves failures from Point of origin / point of detection.
• Lead, Train and guide the team of technicians, Sr Technicians, AEs & Engineers.
• Responsible to prepare FA cookbook for future reference.
• Responsible to prepare weekly FA report (WIP status) and present to management.
• Compiling FA reports as per customer request.
• Lead the project related to Product yield improvement, Scrap reduction.
• Timely review of the debug clearance plan and top 10 failure reduction plan and drive for KPI
• Ensure the SOPs are followed during debug and repair.
• Ensure SOPs and checklists are available, and team is trained on these requirements
• Daily review meetings to be conducted, debug WIP, Scrap and summary of the KPI score card should be used to drive for improvement.
• Ensure team participation in cross function team meeting and act on the escalated issues.
• Ensure periodic audits are carried out and give improvement feedback to the sustenance team if false failures are increasing.
• Guide the cross-function team and Sustenance team on Failure analysis on false failures to improve the first pass yield in the ICT and FCT.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• A minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Debug Engineer or in a similar role
• Possesses a Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• Extensive knowledge of electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and software debugging
• Proficiency in using debug tools and techniques, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging software
• Require good skills in RF, Analog, Digital and DC instruments.
• Perform in-depth PCBA Failure Analysis on failed unit and customer return
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Desire to continually learn and develop new skills
• Mandarin language proficiency is an added advantage
