Software Development Manager (Python & Angular)

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the onshore development team responsible for Billing System, AI Chatbot and Voicebot, Omnichannel Hub, and backend integration services

• Define and govern the technical architecture for Python-based microservices, Angular frontend components, and REST API integration layers

• Establish and enforce DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, coding standards, and code review processes across the development team

• Manage sprint planning, sprint execution, backlog management, and velocity tracking for the onshore development team

• Collaborate with the offshore Development Manager to manage cross-team integration dependencies and resolve technical conflicts

• Work with the BA Lead to review and validate functional specifications ensuring technical feasibility

• Oversee the development of AI Chatbot/Voicebot services including NLP integration, intent management, and omnichannel routing logic

• Ensure all deliverables meet security, performance, and scalability standards in alignment with non-functional requirements

• Review and approve solution design documents, API specifications, database schemas, and deployment configurations

• Coordinate with the Infrastructure Lead on Azure cloud architecture decisions, container orchestration, and deployment strategies

• Lead technical risk management for the onshore workstreams and escalate critical technical blockers to the Programme Manager

Requirements

• Minimum 14 years of software development experience with at least 4 years in a Development Manager or Technical Lead role managing onshore delivery teams

• Expert-level proficiency in Python including Django/FastAPI/Flask frameworks, microservices design patterns, and asynchronous processing

• Strong Angular (v12+) frontend development skills including component-based architecture, state management, and TypeScript

• Proven experience delivering billing system, financial system, or revenue management platform implementations at scale

• Deep knowledge of RESTful API design, API gateway integration, and enterprise integration patterns

• Experience with AI/ML integration, chatbot platforms, and omnichannel communication systems

• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services including AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Azure API Management

• Proficiency in relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases

• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience liaising directly with client IT teams

• Utilities, telco, or government billing system experience is strongly preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
