Alexander Anggono

I hold a Ph.D. in Accounting from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom. My academic foundation is strongly supported by an array of professional designations, including Certified Management Accounting (CMA), Certified Forensic Auditor (CFrA), Certified Risk Professional (CRP), and Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist (CSRS). Employed as a Lecturer at Universitas Trunodjoyo Madura since April 2006, I possess extensive pedagogical experience.

I officially supervise students across both undergraduate and postgraduate (master’s) programmes. Furthermore, I actively engage in curriculum development, aligning teaching materials with stakeholder and industry feedback to meet workplace needs. I demonstrate a robust publication record, frequently publishing in international peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Financial Crime and Heliyon.

I have a proven track record of securing continuous research funding, including grants from the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as several institutional grants from Universitas Trunodjoyo Madura. Bridging academia and industry, I hold a secondary occupation as an Auditor and Management Consultant. My practical expertise is evidenced by my involvement in high-stakes audit investigations requiring expert forensic opinions for litigation, followed by the development of standard operating procedures and the strengthening of internal controls.

I exhibit strong academic leadership, having served two elected terms as the coordinator of the accounting study programme (January 2018 – January 2026), where I managed all academic affairs and collaborations. Additionally, I serve as an editorial team member and a referee for multiple national and international scientific journals.

Lecturer at Universitas Trunodjoyo Madura (2006-04 – Present)

I have been engaging in teaching in higher education since 2006, and I enjoy it. Every semester, I am required to review and update the teaching materials as needed. In addition, I need to improve my teaching methods based on student feedback.

• I officially supervise students across both undergraduate and postgraduate (master’s) programmes.
• For undergraduate students, supervised by only one lecturer. Meanwhile, postgraduate students (master’s programme) are supervised by two lecturers. Sometimes become a principal supervisor, sometimes a co-supervisor, depending on the theses theme.
• As part of the development curriculum every four years, the accounting study programmes invite stakeholders, such as alumni, graduate users, and representatives from several industries. Based on the feedback, we are developing a curriculum and aligning the teaching materials to meet workplace needs.

Auditor and management consultant at Public Accounting Firm Achsin, Handoko, Tomo (AHT) (2023-05 – Present)

• From August to December 2024, a public accounting firm (Achsin Handoko Tomo) asked me to join a team to conduct an audit investigation into a private organisation that suffered a loss of roughly MYR6,060,000. The audit needs to be performed by someone who has been certified as a forensic/investigation auditor, because it will go to litigation and require an expert’s opinion.
• Followed by constructing the “Standard Operating Procedures” and strengthening the internal control of the organisation from May to December 2025.

Lecturer at Universitas Ciputra (2017-08 – 2019-03)

I work as a part-time lecturer, focusing on course preparation and classroom delivery.
