Arathi Siaramu

I am a highly motivated and resilient individual intending to develop my laboratory and research skills as well as enhance my knowledge and hands-on experiences in this field. While working on my academic and extracurricular activities, I have also developed proven interpersonal, laboratory, and teamwork skills, which I believe will be a great asset to further achieve my objectives.

After my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), I was working at Women's Specialist Hospital as an apprentice admin meanwhile was waiting for my matriculation result.

I just finished my degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at University Malaya. I have completed the core courses, like Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. I have also taken elective courses of my interest such as Computational Chemistry, Biosynthesis and Natural Product.

These courses have provided me with a strong foundation in my analytical skills. Additionally, I have experience working with thin layer chromatography (TLC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), atomic adsorption spectrometry (AAS) and possess a good understanding in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), UV and IR spectroscopy along with software such as docking and Knime. I have completed my final year project in Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry field which is synthesis of quinazoline based compounds for anticancer treatment.

Aside from the experience I gained from the courses offered by my University, I also pursued Introduction to Forensic Science course offered by the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore via Coursera.
