Intern at Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2), UPM (2026-03 – 2026-06)

• Prepared and characterized 9 ferrite-CNT composite samples using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), generating experimental data to evaluate their microwave absorption performance.
• Addressed inconsistent curing behavior and mixture homogeneity of ferrite-CNT composites by implementing a literature-based sonication step into the sample preparation process, improving dispersion and mixture consistency of the prepared samples.
• Developed competency in operating the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), progressing from no prior experience to independently characterizing ferrite-CNT composite samples.
• Interpreted complex electromagnetic parameters, involving complex permittivity, permeability, dielectric and magnetic loss tangents, and reflection loss to evaluate material performance across X- and Ku-band frequencies.
• Supported the production of SPTech Educational Kits through conductive paste preparation and circuit printing, contributing to project completion one week ahead of schedule.
• Facilitated interactive STEM activities for teachers and students during the Nanodidik @ Perak programme, enhancing scientific communication and public engagement skills.
