In the past, I have been actively involved in the new product design and development for Daikin air-conditioner and air purifier products. Started as a structural design engineer, I have 3 years of design experience in plastic, sheet metal and insulation. In order to achieve the high product quality and requirement in terms of the specification and aesthetic, I have a good understanding of tolerance stacking analysis (RSS), FTA root-caused analysis and constructing DFMEA on design improvement.
Besides, I have actively supported our tooling engineers to complete the plastic and sheet metal mould trial stage.
During the 3 years in Daikin, I have completed 5 new product development projects, and have fruitful experience in product development cycle, starting from the product design stage, prototyping, vendor selection, tooling development, testing and finally to production pilot run. Throughout the development stage, I actively dealt with the compliance team to understand different countries' standards, law and regulation, and equipped those design requirements to the product, for example, the IEC requirement and the UL requirement.
In terms of personality, I am a self-motivated person, have strong organization skills, and prefer to work with a team of supportive teammates. I always set myself a higher target for the design requirement, have open-mindedness and willing to accept constructive criticism to achieve a better design. Hence, with these personalities, one of the greatest achievements during my career period was winning the Malaysia Good Design Award in year 2023 for the air purifier MC30YVMM developed by Daikin Malaysia.
