Vicky Heng

I am an experienced both preschool and primary Mandarin teacher with nine years of experience from Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

Two years ago, I started a new role as an early years bilingual teacher, and it has been an exciting and fulfilling experience for me. I love seeing children having fun learning both English and Chinese language, and I believe that it is an effective program to start for children at an early age.

I hold a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning, which I completed with top honors. I have always had a passion for working with children, which is why I chose to pursue a career as a teacher. I take great pride in my work and am dedicated to creating a positive and engaging learning environment for my students.

In addition to my teaching experience, I am also a Learning Innovation coach who is passionate about integrating technology into the classroom. I was awarded Apple Distinguished Educator in 2019, which reflects my commitment to innovative and effective teaching practices.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing the piano, watching movies, hanging out with my friends and family, and playing with my nieces. These activities help me maintain a healthy work-life balance and keep me motivated to do my best work.

As an experienced teacher, I have pursued relevant education to enhance my teaching skills. I hold a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education, which I graduated from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. This degree has equipped me with foundational knowledge in early childhood education and has helped me to develop my teaching philosophy.

Additionally, I hold a Professional Competency of International Chinese Teacher, which was awarded by the International Chinese Teacher Certificate Authority, Qinghai University for Nationalities, China. This certification demonstrates my expertise in teaching the Chinese language.

Furthermore, I am a Learning Innovation coach who is passionate about integrating technology into the classroom and supporting teachers in using technology to transform children's learning. In pursuit of this passion, I obtained a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning, which has provided me with a deeper understanding of effective teaching practices and how technology can be used to enhance learning outcomes. My commitment to innovative and effective teaching practices has been recognized through my selection as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2019.
