We are looking to engage a competent and experienced DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for Applications Management, Software Development, exploring Technologies such as AI & Hyper-automation and server as the IT Business Management process lead.
In addition, He or She would also mentor citizen developers in Low/No-code tools development. The job scope covers service management activities, Cloud operational landscapes with many integration points; and the integration of the interdependent services of diverse internal and external service providers into end-to-end services which deliver value to Daystar from the Lagos - Nigeria office.

The DevOps Engineer will cover many software engineering domains - Cloud, Software development, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and manage associated Operational Risks and Controls.
The job holder would be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems and services. This role combines software engineering principles with operational expertise to automate processes, improve system resilience, and maintain high availability across cloud and on-premises environments.
The job holder will be involved in building and operating comprehensive tools, platforms and infrastructure, playing a crucial part in supporting and enhancing the digital fabric of Daystar.
He or She will utilize skills and passion to drive innovation and reliability in our digital operations whilst collaborate with team members to ensure the organization retains critical control points and technical knowledge, avoiding over-reliance on suppliers.
A key requirement would be the ability to enable unlocking of value for the business through exploitation of Asset, Finance and general Business data utilizing Technologies such as AI & Hyper-automation.
Carry out Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) activities for AWS/Azure Platform as may be needed
Develop and maintain in-house built applications and solutions
Manage associated Operational Risks and ensure Controls are designed and operate effective
Utilize AWS and Power BI for data acquisition, transformation, and visualization. Automate key business processes using Power Apps, Python and other technologies such as AI & Hyper-automation
Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the bottlenecks and identify opportunities for improvementGathers, analyses and models data and key performance indicators to develop quantitative and qualitative business insights in an agile fashion, identifies opportunities for improved data analysis.
Ensure operation run books, support guidelines, and procedures are produced and maintained for use
Regular monitoring of the applications and landscape, health check reporting
Ensure compliance with security and governance standards
Bachelor's/ Master's degree in ICT, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Computer Science or a related discipline. Candidates with degrees in other subjects but with strong hands-on domain achievements and relevant certifications in the areas listed above are also acceptable
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer and Application Development. in DevOps and Cloud Engineering roles - software engineering, software development, or system operations
Proficient in using Power Apps and Power BI
Demonstrable experience/skill in , , GitHub and Python.
Proven subject matter expertise working with cloud technologies like Azure/AWS Platform, MongoDBExperience in supporting a diverse application landscape, including change management, application testing, data integrity management, patch management and end-user support and training.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Deep knowledge of Azure Power Platform (Power Apps, Power automate, Co-Pilot studio) Architecture
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
AWS/Azure administration or system engineering certification and proven hands-on experience
Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform and container orchestration tools preferably Kubernetes
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Elastic Stack, and Grafana
