Senior Java Software Engineer

Role Description This Java Software Engineer position is a contract role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and testable code, implementing and integrating microservices, and working with the Spring Framework to build robust back-end solutions. The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to translate requirements into technical implementations, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and optimize application performance.

The role also involves participating in code reviews, maintaining documentation, and adhering to best practices in software development and security.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong core Java and Programming skills, with the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Candidates should possess experience with Microservices architecture, including building, integrating, and scaling distributed services.
• Candidates should possess hands-on expertise with the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data,J2EE, Spring Security) for building back-end systems.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based setting.
• Fintech or banking experience is a must
