I have served in several capacities during my humanitarian career in PLAN International Nigeria where assisted in the implementation of World Food Programme (WFP); activities in Maiduguri as Warehouse Distribution assistant. During my spell with the aforementioned organization, I was able to develop relationship building, Interpersonal and communication skills, creative thinking skills to solve problems, time management, organizational, monitoring and evaluation skills to keep track of thousands of food items during distribution, ensured everyone remains effectively on task and activities were implemented according to donor’s fund requirements. Position Held: Warehouse Distribution Assistant – WFP Project – Maiduguri

Responsibilities:

• Assisted in the implementation, coordination of WFP distribution activities such as: General Food Distribution, Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP) in Maiduguri
• Receive CSB++ waybills from WFP.
• Take inventory of commodities and stacking.
• Assist warehouse officer and logistics officer in performing all general duties. 
• Coordinate the receipt and discharge of goods, materials and consumables to ensure accurate record, accounting and reporting are available at all time to support decision-making.
• Verified, registered and validated CBT - INP beneficiaries.
• Adhere and educate staffs on protection principles during distribution activities. Such as: shelter construction, gender base issues, water provision, compliant desk e.tc
• Contributes to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation of food and non-food distribution activities on a regular basis.
• Supervise enumerator and ad-hoc staffs in warehouse.
• Actively engaged in Post distribution monitoring exercise in the IDP camps in Maiduguri in conjunction with the camp managers, camp committee and the host community leaders which helped us in monitoring and evaluating our progress in the community.

• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. 
• Actively engaged in community mobilization, engagement and sensitization activities (educating them on their expected food ration for the month) with the IDP camp committees and host community leaders in Maiduguri.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat. 
• Timely submission of reports to the team leader using approved templates.
• Actively engaged in the distribution of commodities, carrying out MUAC screening and make referrals if cases arise and the coordination of the crowd; making sure they are well arranged in rows.
• Work with other members of the programme unit to ensure effective and efficient programme delivery.
• Assisted in the registration of new beneficiaries in Maiduguri for BSFP Programme.
• Assist in the Coordination, consolidation, and ensure smooth implementation of WFP programs and operations’ activities and adherence to logistic, human resource, administration and security procedures in Maiduguri.
