Abdulbasit Usman

I am an experienced legal practitioner with practical working experience in criminal justice system which I acquired from the Kano State Ministry of Justice. I am also a civil law expert, a business advisory lawyer and a privacy/data protection attorney. I have gathered these myriads of experience over the course of seven (7) years in active legal practice cutting across practice in full service commercial law firms like C.A. ADOLOR & CO, GREENFIELDS (SOLICITORS & ADVOCATES) and COMPOS MENTIS LEGAL PRACTITIONERS.

I started my career in the criminal justice system/administration as a pupil State counsel in the Kano State Ministry of Justice. There I polished my criminal litigation and prosecution skills.

I ventured into civil law with the law firms of CA ADOLOR & CO, GREENFIELDS (SOLICITORS & ADVOCATES) and COMPOS MENTIS LEGAL PRACTITIONERS where I have been able to develop and improve my Civil litigation and criminal defence skills, as well as corporate and property law practices, as a result of which I currently offer extensive general practice legal services.

I have also served as the Head of Business Development for Compos Mentis Legal Practitioners and this has given me the opportunity to develop business ideas for the firm's client's and the firm itself. As a senior associate, I have had the opportunity of working on several high profile briefs involving multi-nationals in the oil and gas sector as well as conducting dispute resolution meetings and/ or Arbitration proceedings in addition to regular court room litigation. This has made me better equipped to handle the demands of an organisation such as yours and I will appreciate the opportunity to contribute and add value to the organisation.

I am a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with a Second Class honours Upper division (2015). I am also a graduate of the Nigerian Law school with a second class honours, Upper division (2016).
