As a chess instructor I monitor and advise a chess team or individual student. I coach students at any level, helping them to learn rules and pieces, improve their chess strategy, and prepare for national games. I provide demonstrations of basic and complex movements, explain how to set up and care for a chess set properly, and encourage positive sportsmanship.

I also oversee all activities in a match or competition. I establish team goals, assist with preparation, and develop opportunities for all interested parties. As a chess instructor I also handles the administrative duties, including managing the budget, planning events, maintaining equipment, and tracking participation.

I work at a public school, where I serve as a chess teacher for up to 3years now.

I am a chess Instructor/chess player and tutor with acquired educational mentoring and coaching skills immersed in the Bloom's taxonomy of Knowledge. A Graduate of Social studies Education with Hons.

Currently

Working as a chess Instructor for prestigious Schools in Kano. I preferably use Debriefing as a conversational sessions that revolve around the sharing and examining of information after a specific event has taken place. This method takes into consideration the experiences and facilitates reflection and feedback.

I love feedbacks, Debriefing methodology in teaching chess involve feedback to the students or among the students, but this is not the intent. The intent is to allow the students to "thaw" and to judge their experience and progress toward change or transformation. The intent is to help them come to terms with their experience.

This process involves a cognizance of cycle that students may have to be guided to completely debrief. I don't overly critical of relapses in behaviour. Once the experience is completely integrated, my students will exit one cycle and get on with the next.
